the challenge
Industry runs on water, and answers for what it releases.
Factories move vast amounts of water and release pollutants to both water and air. Regulators are tightening on both fronts. The EU's new wastewater directive adds a fourth treatment step for micropollutants, and limits on NOx emissions keep falling. The task is to clean more, with fewer chemicals.

Water in and out
Process water to clean, effluent to treat.
Emissions to air
NOx from combustion, under tightening limits.
Fewer chemicals
Compliance without a new pollutant to remove.

Why ozone
One oxidiser, two problems.
Ozone is one of the most powerful oxidisers in nature: it breaks pollutants apart. In water, that means destroying pathogens and breaking down contaminants. In air, it turns the NOx from combustion into a form a scrubber can capture. Made on site from oxygen, it reverts to oxygen once its work is done, so the same chemical-free force cleans both your water and your air.
Industrial water
Cleaner water, into, around and out of the process.
Cooling water
Ozone controls biofilm and microbial growth, lowers COD and replaces chlorine-based biocides, keeping cooling towers and heat exchangers efficient.
Process water & reuse
Disinfect and clarify process water, and reuse it instead of drawing fresh, lowering intake and cost.
Wastewater compliance
Reduce COD and BOD, strip colour and odour, and break down micropollutants and pharmaceutical residues before discharge.
Already in operation, from COD reduction of outgoing water at Viscofan in Spain, to process water and textile treatment at HANMI in South Korea.

NOx reduction
Cleaner air, from the same source.
NOx from combustion is hard to capture because it barely dissolves in water. Ozone changes that. Injected into the exhaust at low temperature, it oxidises the insoluble NO into soluble higher oxides, which a wet scrubber then captures as harmless nitrate. Fast, chemical-free, and stable even as the load changes.
-
Over 95% NOx removal is achievable.
-
Retrofits to existing scrubber systems.
-
Prevents the smog and ground-level ozone that NOx forms in sunlight.
Arrow Lake supplies the ozone that does the oxidising. The scrubber captures it.

Controlled by design
Dosed to the job, measured in real time.
Cooling water, an effluent stream or an exhaust duct, each gets exactly the ozone it needs, dosed precisely and measured continuously, so you use no more than the job requires and can prove the result.
